We stayed here at the the Hibiscus Lodge. It was a superb stay. The grounds were well kept ,the oceanic view was impeccable, rooms immaculate and the staff very friendly. We are definitely spending another vacation there in a few months. Hats off to the management. |

I travel a lot, but have made Brezes my destination more than all others combined. I have been there 17 times. We got married there in 2001. The property went through a magor renovation and re-opened in 2007. I found the changes to me wonderful. It was more than a face lift. Theyy added new rooms, suites, resatuants and freshened up everything else. The key success factor for this resort is the staff. You will not find friendlier or more helpful staff anywhere.
I am an avid SCUBA diver. This makes Breezes an exceptional value becaus SCUBA is included in the price of your stay. I can't say enough good things about this property. That is why I am retuning in two weeks! |

Just got back from Jamaica, I had a great time, the weather was hot everyday even when it was cloudy, average was 28 degrees C, Hotel Four Seasons bedrooms look nothing like the pictures on the site I have visited, and they are really spacious. I have found their website you can have a look for yourself, http://www.hotelfourseasonsjm.com. Excellent Hotel. |

Not good! |

My family and I while in Jamaica did go to Dunnes River Falls. The only good thing about it was the boad trip ther and back! When we got there it was full of tourists and it was confusing on what group you camed in there was so many people. The falls is very high and hard to climb you need climbing shoes which you can rent!
The water current is very strong and i wouldnt suggest going if your faint hearted, pregant or cant swim. My husband and i are both strong swimmers and when climbing the falls did fall over on a numerous of times and cut our legs. The current was so strong it pulls you under if you fall in so you have to be careful!
Theres no rope to hold onto just the your fellow mates, family hands. The spiders tangled on the braches of the trees were MASSIVE! At the end of it you can purchase a DVD, which we did but were unsatisfied as it didnt show much of us climbing the falls. Waste of money but something to add to your list to say you have done. |

UNSATISFIED HOLIDAY!!! Visited: July 2008 |

My family and I stayed at Club Ocho Rios for two weeks. The transfer time from the airport to the hotel was about hour and fourty five minutes. The bus had no Air con.
Check In took too long.My daughter who was 19 was given a Red band which is used to notify the bartenders not to serve alcohol to children. My husband had to go threw all our bags to find my daughetrs passport to prove her age.
The employees on the main desk were VERY rude!!!! I had to buy calling cards from ther and they were 20$ each, ten pound sterling and they tried to rip me off on a numerous of times, even though the manager told his employees that the money i was giving them was correct!
The room itself was lovelly, the design and decor was good but smelt very mouldy. The beds werent that comfy. The cleaners do a good job when they want to but come in on innapropriate times.
The breakfast was great, american style! We found the burgers tasted like processed meat, which you wouldnt expect from a 6 star hotel. Dinner time got boring same food, the line to make resverations for the restraunts was long and the chinese restraunt was disguisting.
Entertainment at night was the same, the Michael Jackson show was the only good one. Sports bar was very cheesy and same with the disco.
Kids club NO GOOD!! They dont watch your children in the pool!!!! very DANGEROUS
At the end of it we had a big bill to pay for the connection of the phone. £127.98p even though we had calling cards!!

We travelled to Jamaica for the first time in Feb 2007 and stayed at the Ocho Rios. Absolutely fabulous! No complaints whatsoever... We travelled with our two teenaged sons (17 + 15 yrs at the time). My husband and myself had one room and the boys had another. No problems! Friendly staff. Amazing selection of food. Clean rooms (I am very particular). Clean pool. Made reservations for a special dinner one night - great steak food. Continually stocked fridge. No complaints. Did the Dunn River Falls excurtion which was amazing a definite must do. Would definitely return; actually, thinking about going back early next year (2009) to Jamaica but might try the Montego Bay new Riu location. |

Our Jamaican vacation was so enriched by our stay in this wonderful villa. It was beautifully located for trips into the town of Montego Bay - and also for destinations beyond.
The villa itself was wonderfully equipped and thoughtfully planned for our every need. We reveled in the views from both the upstairs balcony and the patio.
We will definitely make a habit of renting this villa. |

This accommodation is sumptuous and peaceful, while being in the heart of Montego Bay and very close to the airport.
It is an ideal getaway if Jamaica is your destination of choice. |

I enjoyed every part of it.
I like that it has its own, authentic identity, which doesn't seem the case with most of the larger resort type of places in Negril. I guess the people who work in Nirvana make the difference. But it also just feels and looks nice.
Anyway, we will definitely be back. |

Warning - think twice before going! Visited: August 2008 |

We just returned from a stay at the Riu Ocho Rios. Here is what I noted on our stay: Only about 70% of the staff were actually friendly and helpful
Don't rely on their Internet service. I found it extremely frustrating after paying so much for a stay at a resort, that what is now a basic commodity (internet) could only be found in the smelly sportsbar. Oh, and you have to pay $9.00 per 30 minutes of access.
The largest of the two pools was absolutely disgusting! Every day, there was a consistent layer of oily film on top of the water and a gathering of what looked like sunscreen foam in the corners of every step, etc. There were drink straws floating everywhere.
The pool was closed at least twice during hours for "treatment", but it never looked clean, didn't smell like chlorine, and didn't burn my eyes when I went under (which means there was barely any chlorine in it - scary).
The dinner reservation process was ridiculous! Each day we had to wait in line in order to make dinner reservations at any of the restaurants (besides the buffet) for the following evening. That meant we had to stop whatever we were doing each day at 4:15 and go down to a hallway near the lobby and get in one of the four lines.
The staff didn't show up until 5:00 or after to take the reservations, so we were stuck until then. However, if we got there any later than 4:15, we wouldn't get to eat until 9:00 every night. |

Many of the staff members here had such poor attitudes and were extremely complacent about serving us. Not only was the service bad, the food was mediocre at best - and the prices were outrageous.
On top of all of this, we came back to erroneous charges of several hundred dollars on our credit card.
So, if you decide to take a chance and stay at the Ritz, I'd suggest cash transactions only. That's a suggestion. |

Beware! Visited: July 2008 |

Actually, even though we were disappointed at the sparse accommodations, we were doing fine here. That was until our garden bungalow was robbed! It was all downhill from there.
The police were called in. The manager was very unsympathetic and disinterested in our plight. The security officer implied that we staged the robbery.....can you imagine? There were many nice employees, but the thief gave the hotel a bad reputation. Beware!
I will not let this prevent me from coming back to Jamaica. However, I won't stay here. |

I just got off the plane in Boston from CocoLaPalm. It was the most spectacular vacation. I lived on the beach all day long, as there were 23 people with us.
I totally loved this place. They had great curried goat, and wonderful breakfast. The security was very attentive, too.
They had horses brought to the beach at 5:00 am all tacked and ready to go. Each horse had a guide. The stable hands who came were very grateful. Everyone did a wonderful job. I galloped race horses for a living, and these horses were well up to par. If you can gallop a horse - this is the ride you should take. I had no boots on, and I was in a bathing suit. I tore my legs up, but it was worth every gallop.
It was an awesome place. |

We stayed only one week, but the location was next to everything! We enjoyed the wonderful beach, and great food. The staff was so kind, too. We could not have asked for anything more.
Our host was very special. He made us right at home, and even invited us to dinner. He cooked a meal that will never be forgotten! Many thanks.
We will return, and stay at Chippewa Village in Negril. |

A Negril Area travel review
We had a great time. |

We had our children with us - ages 16, 12, and 6. At first, we were a little intimidated by Jamaica, and wondered why we brought our children. However, by the end of the week, we had fallen in love with the beautiful surroundings and warm Caribbean waters.
These were very nice accommodations. They had great staff, and great food. If you want to see the best sunsets in Jamaica, stay at the Beach House Villas. |

We go on a vacation to be outside in the sun and water. This is the place for that.
It is so quiet, and you can snorkel all day long by the cliffs. We saw more marine life here than on any tour we have ever paid for.
The rooms were clean, and that was about all. The meals and food were wonderful. You can walk the Seven Mile Beach, but you have to walk through Hedonism to get there. It was the most relaxing place we have ever stayed, and it will be the only place we stay from now on. |

I have been to Club Ambiance 18 times and counting!
This is a lovely little resort with the best service I have ever had in the Caribbean. The staff goes out of their way to make guests happy and feel welcomed.
I highly recommend Club Ambience to anyone on a budget who wants the best their money can buy. You can't beat it! |

I have been delaying writing my review because that means that our stay at Nirvana really is over. My husband and I stayed here from June 17-22 and Nirvana was truly what made our vacation as wonderful as it was.
I had read the other reviews about this place, and how you really feel at home and leave as a friend. But I was not prepared for how true this was.
Each time we came across a new staff member on the grounds, they came to us with a smile and introduced themselves, asked for our names, and actually remembered them. They kept up with our day to day schedule, and knew when we were leaving and would be back.
I also have to give two thumbs up for the invisible housekeeping staff. I never saw them, but we always came back to a clean room and fresh towels, even if we only stepped out for an hour.
I would have to say that I have never seen a place that made you immediately feel at home and always kept things on a personal level, rather than you being treated like just a customer. All of the Jamaican people were kind hearted and wonderful, but I would have to say that the staff at Nirvana was just a step above the rest.
We will especially miss the three wonderful security guards! In addition to the staff, our room and the entire grounds were beautiful and very comfortable. It was definitely worth every penny.
If we ever go back to Jamaica, we will head straight for Nirvana. |

The only thing good about this place was the mango tree by the pool that provided free mangos.
This place is definitely on the wane. Ants and biting bugs were a problem. Cleanliness was okay - but not great.
The biggest issue was security. One lady had $900 stolen. Security guards roamed the place every night, and there were two large dogs that were tied on the premises. Cars and motorbikes raced at high speed on the narrow road that bisected the place. Security in general seemed to be a big issue in Jamaica according to the local newspaper.
Another big disappointment was that there was no beach. The nearest beach was at least 2/3 miles away.
I suggest if you go to Jamaica, stay at an all inclusive, and don't leave the premises. It was a beautiful place, but plan carefully!
