The course will be spectacular from both golf and aesthetic perspectives and the Club House will also have a lavishly appointed spa facility, offering a full range of health and beauty services and treatments.
Set on an historic sugar plantation (c.1686) on the island's crest nearly 1,000 feet above the west coast's pristine beaches, Apes Hill Club offers panoramic sea views in all directions and is cooled by pleasant trade winds. A lush, exalted setting. A place to compare shades of blue in the Caribbean and Atlantic, marvel at the tropical flowers and stately palms, glimpse Bajan monkeys and exotic birds in the forest canopy. A privileged enclave on one of the most beautiful islands in the West Indies.
According to Landmark's most recent construction update, the back nine-holes 10 through 18-will be fully grassed by July 15, making the entire back nine loop playable in the fall. All 18 holes are expected to be grassed by February, 2009. (close) |

The Barbados Game Fishing Association(BGFA), is responsible for all game fishing events in Barbados and has firmly established itself as one of the premier Associations or Clubs in the Eastern Caribbean. We have played a leading role in encouraging other fishing associations in the region and, today, we have an active and enjoyable relationship with our contemporaries in Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia, Martinique, Antigua and, most recently, Dominica, St. Vincent and Guadeloupe.
The BGFA practices conservation in all of its events either by minimum weight or length and encourages tag and release with pain of penalty for landing undersized fish. (close) |

This is the rugged east coast of Barbados, where visitors come to breath the air, soak in the invigorating Bathsheba Pools and feel alive.
It is breathtakingly beautiful; wide white sand beaches stretch along a dramatic coastline of striking rock formations against which the Atlantic rollers break in cascades of foam. What at first glance are huge boulders washed up on the beach, are actually rock formations broken away from ancient coral reef!
The "Soup Bowl" located at Bathsheba is the surfer's choice while the East Coast Road is a popular picnic spot.

The beach is semi enclosed by high coral cliffs, providing a panoramic view of the south shore. The scene is completed by the presence of tall palm trees that add to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the bay.
Always a popular picnic spot, it is also becoming a popular place to live and a number of homes are being built on the tops of the cliffs overlooking the beach and ocean. People who live there report spotting turtles and whales in the waters below the rocks.
Bathing here is not recommended, as the waves are very strong, and great care should be shown by those who choose to do so. (close) |

(more)Lasting for approximately 5 weeks, and commencing in July, Crop Over is a Barbadian festival celebrating the end of the local sugar cane crop harvest - hence it's name.
If you have never experienced Grand Kadooment Day, then you've been missing out on one of life's great treasures. A summer street carnival, filled with people consumed with "festival fever", dancing to Caribbean soca music and wearing spectacular, multicolored costumes and body paint. It's the climax of the Crop Over festival - "sweet fuh days" - in Barbados.
Color, culture and heritage (tuk bands, land ship, stilt-walkers), music (calypso, tuk, ring bang and steelpan), alcohol (locally brewed beer and rum) along with energy, friendly spirited people and fantastic summer weather, are all combined to create the Caribbean's ultimate festival -"more than a carnival, sweet fuh days".
Crop Over was resurrected in 1974 from a multi-decade hibernation that began in the 1940's due to hardships of the time and the world war. Since then, it has grown steadily into the island's premiere event, attracting thousands of new and repeat visitors annually.
The cultural diversity of the island is showcased throughout the festival through exhibitions, concerts, street markets, parades and of course mega dust-to-dawn parties (also referred to as fetes or bashments).
